Light and Shadow

stĕr΄-eo-gr˘af΄

a photographic technique developed in 1832 that superimposes two

nearly identical images for viewing through a stereoscope or stereoscopic

glasses, giving the effect of a three-dimensional image.

Stereograph wines are produced from some of Napa Valley's most sought-after and appreciated vineyard sites. Winemaker Sally Johnson Blum and her husband, Max Blum, are thrilled to be launching a wine brand together. Stereograph brings together their passions for wine, art, and history. The wines will showcase Sally's winemaking style and will feature three offerings in the inaugural vintage.

Sally Johnson Blum has been crafting exceptional wines in Napa Valley and beyond for over 25 years. After spending eight years at St Francis Winery and Vineyards, working a vintage in Australia at St Hallett Winery and crafting the wines at Pride Mountain Vineyards for over 15 years, Sally launched her consulting business in 2023, working with clients including Tamber Bey Vineyards, Mullan Road Cellars, CourAvant Wines, and launching Stereograph Wines.  Sally’s numerous accolades include two 100-point scores from the critic Robert Parker, three wines on the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines in the World list, having crafted wines that were served at multiple White House State dinners, and being named one of Glamour magazine’s “10 Badass Women Winemakers.” Her approach to winemaking is to balance fruit intensity and vibrancy with refinement and age-ability, producing site-specific wines that reflect the unique moment in time in which they were created. More information about Sally’s winemaking philosophy and her other projects can be found on her website and social links below.
